Marketing Coordinator, CT

Position Summary: Provide marketing support for CT Magazine and associated resources, including CTPastors.com and Men of Integrity. Work closely with publishing teams to plan and execute marketing strategies, and assist with project management.

Primary Job Functions Include:

Assists in marketing and project management for Christianity Today magazine and CTPastors.com (100%)

  • Marketing Promotions
    • Work closely with CT’s Director of Marketing to develop, implement and review promotional strategies and marketing plans for brands within the CT audience, including:
      • Web banners, hover ads, videos, and other emerging digital formats
      • E-newsletter and e-blast marketing
      • Subscription page testing, end-of-article, newsletter follow-up, and affiliate promotions
      • Pay-per-click advertising via Google AdWords, Bing, Facebook, Twitter, and other platforms
    • Perform cost and pricing analysis for product and subscription offers, suggesting new product ideas, and planning and implementing A/B split tests to maximize revenue.
    • Work with Marketing UX Designer to update and edit inside space for quarterly printing.
    • Coordinate event and conference marketing efforts to ensure deadlines and performance goals are met
    • Meet weekly with CT editorial team, providing input and implementing various content marketing strategies as needed such as working closely with design team on lead-generation products (e.g. PDF or eBook downloads) for additional newsletter sign-ups.
    • Develop and implement content marketing plans to improve SEO, PPC conversion, and email newsletter sign-ups for CT Men of Integrity, CT magazine, and related verticals, providing performance analysis on a quarterly basis and recommending strategic shifts as needed.
  • Assist with Project & eCommerce Management
    • Work closely with CT’s Director of marketing and Internet Operations team to coordinate and develop new products and sections of CT print and online.
    • Test and review new site features for ChristianityToday.com to optimize site functionality and UX.
    • Manage and update eCommerce platforms with new products and special promotions.

  • Due to the innovative and disruptive nature of publishing, additional projects assigned as needed.

Job Qualifications and Requirements:

Education: Undergraduate degree required. (B.A. or B.S., marketing, journalism, and/or business administration preferred.)

Knowledge/Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills; Able to manage multiple tasks and meet recurring deadlines in a fast-paced environment; Aptitude for creative problem solving and strong analytics skills; Basic understanding of HTML/CSS preferred; Knowledge of evangelical Protestant theology, church, and culture.

Experience:

  • 1-3 years in marketing or online editorial required
  • E-commerce experience preferred, especially use of Shopify or ASP.net storefront
  • Experience using analytics software preferred, including Google Analytics or Omniture
  • Experience in product/marketing design preferred, including use of Adobe Photoshop and InDesign
