Carol Stream, IL May 8th, 2014—Less than 9 months after its successful pledge drive that saved the publication from ending in 2013, Books & Culture, Christianity Today's bimonthly review is showing signs of new growth, releasing the Books & Culture Biweekly, a digital edition of the magazine that packages each print issue into four biweekly installments. Each year, the Books & Culture Biweekly will include 26 digital issues, consisting of 24 issues coming from print magazine content, and the other two issues serving as bonus content.

Publisher Terumi Echols says, "Our readers showed tremendous support with last year's pledge drive, and we wanted to honor their generosity by investing in the future of Books & Culture with additional benefits for its readers."

The Books & Culture Biweekly features:

  • A clean design and simple layout for a unique tablet reading experience
  • Share functionality allowing readers to unlock articles for a friend or social network
  • Bookmarking and copy/paste functions for saving content
  • Portrait and landscape modes for each issue

Editor John Wilson says, "Our art director, Jennifer McGuire, has designed an app that makes for a delightful reading experience, and has us very excited about this new medium."

The app is available in the iTunes store for the iPad and iPad mini. The four biweekly installments of the March/April 2014 print issue are available for free in the app, but all other issues will require a subscription.
