Christianity Today magazine is looking for a Marketing Coordinator to play a central role in CT’s marketing team. In this role, you will work closely with a small, collaborative team of marketers, designers, and editors to drive innovative strategies aimed at improving the user experience, engaging new readers, and growing paid membership. You will be the point person for implementing CT’s marketing communication efforts, and will develop strong expertise of email, social and direct marketing.

As Marketing Coordinator, you’ll also work closely with a cross-functional UX Strategy team to optimize CT’s website and digital channels for increased engagement and conversion. Your primary goal will be to create greater value and sense of community for CT members around the world, and your efforts will make an immediate difference through CT’s growing Kingdom impact.

Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Audience Engagement & Analysis
    • Collaborate with CT’s PPC Manager to develop Google AdWords strategies to effectively drive traffic, newsletter signups, product purchases, and subscription conversions, implementing new landing pages, triggered emails, and tracking codes as needed.
    • Perform analysis on past and current campaigns and suggest opportunities for increased conversion and optimization, creating tracking links for more granular analysis.
    • Use A/B testing software to test new site features on ChristianityToday.com, including end-of-article prompts, newsletter forms, and subscription offers.
  • Marketing Communications & Membership Marketing
    • Create and maintain user onboarding flows and retention/renewal efforts to create a more engaging customer experience and develop brand advocates.
    • Coordinate event and conference marketing efforts to ensure effective communication.
    • Coordinate with CT editors to produce CT newsletters and help optimize content, recommending changes to increase engagement, including sharing, click-throughs, and new subscriptions.
    • Assist CT’s customer service team as needed to improve marketing communication.
    • Manage CT’s relationship with outside agencies, suggesting new strategic promotional initiatives and coordinating with external partners to grow CT’s agency business.
  • Assist with Project Management
    • Update subscription pages images, site images, and other issue-based marketing efforts.
    • Update various site panels monthly, including CT’s Digital Issue Alert, suggesting formatting changes as needed to increase engagement and improve user experience.
    • Work with Marketing Manager, Designer, and UX Strategy Team to implement and analyze marketing promotions including building landing pages, creating tracking links, updating banners, and scheduling eblasts.
    • Work closely with CT’s Marketing Manager to update and edit inside space for biannual printing.
    • Attend project development meetings and assist the project team to build wireframes and perform UAT bug testing.

  • 1-3 years of marketing experience; preferably in online, magazine or book publishing.
  • Experience working with multiple deadlines and balancing priorities effectively
  • Familiar with analysis software, especially Google Analytics or similar BI reporting software
  • Familiar with Email Service Providers like MailChimp, ActiveCampaign, or other similar software
  • Willingness to learn basic HTML; some experience in HTML coding preferred.
  • Effective communication skills, especially the ability to break down complex challenges and ideas to make them easily understood, measured, and executed.
